Purple coneflowers were formerly grouped with Rudbeckias. They are self supporting sunlovers with handsome daisy flowers on stout stems and seem able to tolerate a wide range of soil types. They grow to about 90cm tall. Attractive to butterflies and bees. Best planted in spring.
