In summer 2007 I took notes of the flowering times of many of the cultivars in the UK National Collection. These apply to SW England and will vary with the climate under which heleniums are grown, however the broad principles will apply - those that are shown as flowering in June (largely derived from Helenium bigelovii) will be early in most temperate gardens and the later H autumnale derived forms will always flower later. The very late season performers tend to be repeat flowerings of theH bigelovii forms. These are not exhaustive observations, they merely reflect the most conspicuous cultivars.
